Using the 'discharge' method of printing gives Fiona more control of the colour whilst retaining the soft handle of the fabrics. She specialises in printing wool mixes, lambswool, silk and cashmere.

After gaining a BA (Hons) in Printed textiles at Edinburgh College of Art I went on to receive a MA at the Royal College of Art – graduating in 2000. After the success of my graduation exhibition I decided to set up my own business initially selling to stores such as Designers Guild and VV Rouleaux.
After receiving mentoring from the Crafts Council, I explored the American market and took part in the NY Now trade exhibition. An exhibition I would return to year after year building up clients such as the New York Museum of Art and Design, The American Folk-Art Museum and The San Francisco Museum of Craft and Design.
I also took part in Craft Scotland’s recent collaboration with the American Craft’s Council and exhibited at their large retail event in Baltimore. I've been a regular exhibitor at retail shows in the UK including the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair in Manchester, The Contemporary Craft Festival in Bovey Tracey, Lustre in Nottingham and Flock in Banchory.
I first opened for business in 2007, with a range of handmade felted jewellery and accessorises, combining traditional wet felting, needle felting and sewing techniques. I sell my designs up and down the U.K. through several galleries and boutiques and seasonal craft events.
Along with selling my own work I also teach a variety of art and craft skills from felting, sewing, jewellery making, paper crafts and printmaking and I am available for talks, demonstrations as well as workshops.
I love to create bold, colourful items, I take my inspiration from all manner of sources from art, photography and architecture to the world of fashion, interior design and of course craft but the people I meet in my workshops have proven to be the most influential. Generating the belief that being creative is also good for your wellbeing.
